Two OU Press Books Named Ohioana Award Finalists

Two books published by Ohio University Press in 2007 are finalists for 2008 Ohioana Book Awards. Good Roots: Writers Reflect on Growing up in Ohio, edited by Lisa Watts, and Out of the Woods: A Bird Watcher’s Year, by Ora Anderson and edited by Deborah Griffith, are both candidates for the category of books about Ohio. Winners will be announced at the end of August and honored at the annual Ohioana Day Awards Ceremony on Saturday, October 18, 2008.

Kirkus & PW Give Starred Reviews to Latest Amish Mystery

Two starred reviews in major magazines have jump-started the publication of P. L. Gaus’s Separate from the World: An Ohio Amish Mystery. Publishers Weekly called Gaus’s “excellent sixth Ohio mystery” “another winner in this fine regional series”; Kirkus Reviews called it a “sharp mystery” and “A perceptive look at problems that have no easy solutions.”
