Press Notes: 2010 Annual Catalog of Titles Now Available

December 11, 2009

The month of November saw continued interest in Athens author John Thorndike’s memoir, The Last of His Mind: A Year in the Shadow of Alzheimer’s. A review in the Washington Post Book World capped the national coverage, but reviews also appeared in regional media like The Athens News and Cape Cod Times. Interview requests also came from the likes of AARP and more author events were planned into 2010.

Ohio University Press also published its first annual catalog in November. The list of new books has traditionally been divided into two seasons, but in an effort to reduce printing and mailing costs, a single annual edition for 2010 was produced. Work on the catalog began in the summer and the result—also in a new smaller format—is an attractive marketing piece.

Ohio University Press is the largest university press in Ohio, publishing 40–50 books annually on a variety of topics. These books carry the Ohio University name into the world, receiving national and international attention from leading scholarly journals, prominent review media, and prestigious award competitions.
